JOB DESCRIPTION 

Job Title: .Net Developer 

Job purpose: We are looking for an ASP.NET MVC developer that will be able to develop and support existing applications. The main scope of work will include everything from back-end to client-side code, using optimal and efficient technologies, frameworks, and patterns. Your primary responsibilities will be to design and develop these applications. Therefore, it’s essential that you are skilled at problem solving, solution design, and high-quality coding. The developer will lead the entire app lifecycle right from concept stage until delivery and post launch support. 
 
Experience: 3 - 6 yrs.

Reporting line: Development Manager 

Working relationships (internal/external):

Product Development Managers – Internal Customer, working with the Brand Product Development teams to develop ideas concepts and solutions that help the brand meet their objectives.
 
Developers – working very closely with the development/ engineering teams responsible for the web sites. 

Project Managers – working very closely with project managers effectively working across multiple projects and delivering to deadlines. 

Main tasks and responsibilities: 
    • Delivering a high-quality application
    • Designing front-end interface and write backend code.
    • Ensuring a required level of performance
    • Writing test-backed server-side code
    • Analysing requirements and designing new functionality
    • Supporting and fixing existing functionality
    • Selecting and using the most appropriate and efficient technologies for a particular application.
    • Designing and building application layers
    • Working closely with other developers leading the other platform development.
    • Deliver across the entire app life cycle –concept, design, build, deploy, test, release to app stores and support.
    • Working directly with developers and product managers to conceptualize, build, test and realize products.
    • Gather requirements around functionality and translate those requirements into elegant functional solutions. 
    • Build prototypes at tech scoping stage of projects. 
    • Working along the web developers to create and maintain a robust framework to support the apps. 
    • Create compelling device specific user interfaces and experiences. 
    • Standardizing the platform and in some cases apps to deliver across multiple brands with minimal duplication of effort.
    • Optimizing performance for the apps. 
    • Keep up to date on the latest industry trends in .Net technologies. 
    • Explain technologies and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Attend industry events/ conference – both attending and presenting. 
Person specification: 

    • Proven commercial software development experience – desktop and web. 
    • Published examples of web applications. 
    • Excellent knowledge in information architecture, human computer interaction and usability design principles. 
    • A track record of delivering successful consumer and or business products. 
    • Ability to use analytic data and user testing to inform design decision. 
    • A passion for new consumer technology and the emerging media landscape. 
    • Ability to multi task and good time management skills. 
    • Ability to work on their own and as a part of the team. 
    • Excellent scoping and estimation skills. 
    • Excellent testing/ QA skills. 
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to liaise with various departments.

Essential skills: 

Proficiency in C#.Net
Experience using .NET
Experience in developing ASP.NET MVC | ASP.NET Core MVC | ASP.NET | WPF | WCF
Senior Knowledge of ADO.NET | Entity Framework 4.0 and above | NHibernate
Proficient knowledge in MSSQL. Knowledge of Oracle will be an added advantage.
Understanding and working expertise in of HTML, CSS, JS, JQuery, Bootstrap, Angular JS and other client-side technologies.
Dependency injection pattern and IoC containers using at least one of: Autofac, Unity, Ninject, and/or SimpleIoc is desired.
Writing tests and implementing enterprise application patterns.
Chemdraw and Chemaxon development through c#.Net. Development of an electronic Notebook app with structure search features will be an added advantage.

Desirable skills: 
Working with a content management system. 
Working in a media/ publishing environment. 
SharePoint.
Java and JSP.
